Locomotive Spring Stool

Materials:
Locomotive suspension spring, leather, foam, lazy susan, 1/4" metal plate, (6) 4" castors, industrial pulley wheel.

2" thick solid steel spring coil with a hand sewn leather, 360 degree spinning cushion, optional 6 wheel base for height lift or moveabilty.

I like the stool on the castor base when I am DJing becasue it gets me HIGHER.
Drafting Table.

I was working on a Lamisil commercial. Yes the foot fungus company. Anyway, as the Art Director, the Director wanted to have a 4' x 8' sheet of 1" thick plexi glass on set to replicate a toe nail that we were to shoot through. We never did shoot that shot so I had this $800 piece of heavy plexi sitting in my garage for years. I always knew I was going to use it for something.

I was driving in an alley in Santa Monica and saw the metal structure of a angled table sitting next to a dumpster. It looked brand new. It did not have any type of top or the hardware to put it together. So I immediatey thought of the plexi. I drove to the harware store, picked up four castor wheel, and some bolts. Pulled out the old plexi, cut it down to 6' in length. and then pulled th epaper off, sanded both sides to give it a frosting look. I figured it would get scratched up anyway. I drilled four holes into it. Voila. A kick ass drafting table. I have had several high priced offers to buy it from me. Cost me all of $30 total.
Same stool without 6 wheel castor base.

I like using it better with my drafting table like this. It does not roll, and it is lower for the lower lip of my enlarged workspace.
Door Armoire-Shallow Shelf

Materials: Old 1920's California Bungalow Cottage Doors, 2" Pine wood, molding.

One door halved to create the side panels, then stripped and sanded for the warm weathered look.
Glass Door Armoire

I was driving to work and I saw the two old French Doors sitting waiting for a garbage truck. Nothing wrong with them just a remodel, so onto my convertible they went. Added some molding, an old shutter for the backing, a few shelves, and voila, another Armoire.
Door Armoire-Deep Shelf

Materials: Old 1920's California Bungalow Cottage Doors, 2" Pine wood, molding.

One door halved to create the side panels, then stripped and sanded for a warm weathered look.
Metal Coop Shelf

I was working on a commercial in the California desert. I was in the middle of nowhere, rooting around looking for odds and ends to dress a set, when I stumbled upon this. I immediately fell in love with this pieces of rusted metal. I believe it was from some sort of animal coop. It is so sexy and beautiful to look at, so I strung it up with some wire rigging so I could look at it all the time. A friend brought me this calacas years ago and I never forget her for it.
A little different angle to show you the depth.
Lamp

It started out when I saw this great suede, hand-stiched lamp shape that was a beautiful off white and so very soft. That was in North Carolina. I found a water pot in New Mexico and a rusted metal plant stand in Arizona. I drilled a hole in the pot and wired it up. It has been with me ever since.

Various parts found in various states can make a very aesthetic lamp.
Dresser of Love

I was driving in hell traffic in Los Angeles. This spoke to me on the side of the road, so I spoke back.

I picked it up, it was completely unfinished and in pieces. So I took it home and slowly spoke to it. I needed to teach it that I cared and to caress it back to shape. It trusted me and came to be quite a companion. I stained it three various colors to let it be happy with difference and escape normalcy. It speaks to me daily.
Bean Bag Love Cush.

Custom Fur Bean Bag Chairs RULE! I love Fur! I made the size bigger and badder than any other bean bag chair. Then I made another out of long haired black fur, and still, it did not satiate my taste for fur. It was not enough, so I made a huge bolster out of some extra fur I had. Then, like a delicious sundae, I topped the whole thing off with a lambskin rug...mMMmmm good.

Can fit two comfortably.

In the corner you will see a lighting fixture measuring two feet wide. That was a hanging lamp in a seafood restaurant in Marina Del Rey, but when they went out of business, I felt I needed it next to my Love Cush. Sort of reminds me of a Barbarella them, which then reminds me of a 21 year old Jane Fonda, which then puts a smile on my face... win, win, win.
Painted Coffee Table

Materials: Chicken Coop, Smoked Glass, Finniel End Caps for legs.

Painted Coffee Table to match the Painted Chair

I was scouting a shoot for a music video in a deserted barn in North Carolina when I saw three of these chicken coops. I took all three to salvage for furniture. I gave away the others as gifts, but had to bring out here. The smoked glass I found in an alley in Venice, it was broken so I cut the shard part off to use with the coffee table. I liked how it showed the painted flavor and overall texture underneath.

Painted Chair

Materials: Old Chair my brother found in a shed in NC.
It was a sad little chair but I had time to kill so I painted it silly. Painted Chair to match the Coffee Table. Strung it with black cord to provide seating. Now I like that sad little chair.
Funky Ass Ladder

It said to me, "Everyone needs a ladder". I needed a friend, so I painted my friend and that is how we came to love each other.

Every angle you look at this ladder is a different color scheme. Just like with all my friends.
Painted Power Fist

Water Color.

I was trying to represent power with stillness and without action. I still like to look at it.
Breastasy

Materials: Wood frame from an old fence, ceramic, brown shoe polish

I guess I have always been sexual. This was riffing off the similar reference lines of Octopussy... the many spires of a breast.
Ceramic Boot

I was in love with this one pair of boots in college. I wore them everywhere. Never tied them up, ever. Could kick them off easily anytime, like a good pair of slippers. Mr Sanford, my art teacher in College told me to sculpt and recreate something I loved, so I did.

Eternally, you will always be in my heart 'Boots!'
Message Memory

I was working on Message In Bottle in the film editing room. This was one of the many devices to occupy my time in that super long-houred environment. From the Director to the Producer, editing assistants, The Editor, the Post Supervisor and runners. All were afraid of me and my camera ...maybe it was good I left that industry.
Look at the fear on all the little faces...
Vibrant Flower

Bamboo leaves painted. Bamboo stem. Oak wood base.

Just pretty.
Didgeri-Dildo

Oral Vibratoy. A dildo attached to a cardboard tube, painted, and ready for vibration sensation.

I went tribal in theme, I am a warrior.
